CHICO, Calif. - In keeping with the tradition of offering the newest, latest and greatest programming for their students, the Chico Area Recreation and Park District After School Program recently hired Mike and Phil from Par Out Golf to organize and facilitate a 6-site tournament of champions. The qualifying rounds were played every Friday for 6 weeks, each Friday at a different program site. The players with the best scores in three separate age brackets were invited to the CARD office on Vallombrosa to play against each other in the first ever Par Out Master's Tournament.
Students were evenly matched and included both girls and boys in grades 1-6. "The response was incredible," commented Phil, the designer and co-creator of the game and tournament. " Kids were really getting in to the healthy competition, learning about the game of golf, and having a lot of laughs. The communication, trust, and etiquette shown by the players was a very exciting bonus to the overall fun!"
"Par Out Golf has proven itself as one of the favorites, and the tournament was the icing on the cake," stated Melissa Pasquale, Supervisor of the After School Program at CARD."I recommend this tournament to any program looking to bring their kids together around a new, fun and even educational game for all ages."
In the age of computer games, the Xbox and Playstation, the simplicity of Par Out still captivates and holds attention.
